Participants will have to draw the line plan of the Engineering College on A2 sheet (i.e. half-imperial sheet) along with the water supply layout (pipe system) as per the given data.
The planning of the Engineering college should be either drawn on a sheet or in the form of a print out with accurate dimensions.
Participants have to show the calculation of the area for different given parts of the Engineering College in percentage in tabular form (Behind the page in case of print out).
Planning:
The college should be planned for an area of 15 acres.
Civil Department = 16.5% of the total area
Mechanical Department = 16.5% of the total area
Chemical Department = 16.5% of the total area
Canteen = 3% of the total area
Sanitary (at two places) = 0.5% of the total area
Ground = 8% of the total area
Hydraulics Lab = 5% of the total area
Administration= 3% of the total area
Parking = 5% of the total area
Walk area (including roads) = 3% of the total area
Free Area = 4% of the total area
Library = 8% of the total area
Maintenance room = 3% of the total area
Any Other Labs = 8% of the total area
Number of Outlets:
Hydraulics Lab: 1
Chemical Lab: 1
Canteen: 1
Sanitary and drinking water: 1 per each separate building
Maintenance room: 1
Pipe System:
A pipe system should reach every place where it is needed.
Pipe system must be designed for 1.5m x 1.5m arena.
All the pipes and pipe fittings [i.e. elbow, TEE, reduces, etc.] must be strictly of PVC.(Use of u-PVC is strictly prohibited.)
Pipe fittings which can vary the discharge like valves, taps, etc. will strictly not be considered at connections.
The design of pipe system should be such that there is minimum head loss.
The participants can bring the model assembled or bring the components of the pipe system and assemble it one hour in advance before the round starts.
The amount of discharge at any outlet depends on the participant and his/her general knowledge.
2m head will be provided by Core Committee of FootPrintsX8 via overhead tank.
Overhead tank will be provided by the Core Committee of FootPrintsX8.
Elevation change and gradients are allowed in the pipe system as per requirements of the design network.
Elevation head difference between any two points in the pipe system must not exceed 20cm.
Diameter of pipe can be varied between 1.5 to 0.5 inches.
Diameter of Inlet pipe given by Core-Committee = 1.5 inch.
All the outlets must be in the same horizontal plane.
Pipe network should be self-supporting [supports for elevated pipe can be provided if necessary].
Participants have to attach flexible pipes of 1.5 meter at every outlet.
