PROBLEM STATEMENT

Design a wired/wireless remote controlled (radio controlled) maneuverable machine proficient in destructing opponent's machine in one on one combat.

Judging Round
  • The machine will be checked thoroughly for its mechanism & dimensions by the judges for design criteria.
  • In this the Judges may ask questions to the team members regarding the working/construction of their machine.
  • Only after passing this round, the teams proceed to the qualifying round.
  • NOTE: The next rounds might be held on different tracks or arena with some surprise inclusions which will be disclosed at the time of the event. Enough time will be provided to the teams for the recovery of their machines between successive rounds of the war, which will be disclosed at the time of the event as per the damage of the machines. In case of tie break, the winner will be decided on the basis of points given by the judges during the JUDGING ROUND.
  • The participants are not allowed to enter in the arena at any point of time.
  • The team destroying the opponents wiring circuitry intentionally or even by mistake during the time of war will be disqualified.
  • The decision of the Core Committee will be considered final and indisputable.
  • The Core Committee has the right to change any of the rules at any time. The changes will be flashed on the website.
  • If the machine remains immobile for respectable time then on the spot decision will be taken by the Core Committee.
  • Once the machine is placed on the arena then the teammates will not be allowed to have direct contact with their own machine.
  • Safe innovations are always encouraged . Each event has safety inspections. It is at their sole responsibility of a respective team to disclose all operating principles and weaponary system and potential dangers to the Core Committee members.
The teams have to submit the abstracts containing the following:
  • Name of the Event
  • Team ID
  • Names of the Participants
  • College
  • Year
  • Name of the Machine
  • Photograph of the machine clearly showing the mechanisms used.
Abstract Specifications:
  • Specify the dimensions clearly in the format of L cm x B cm x H cm. Clearly mention the voltage specifications of your machine. Describe the destruction mechanism used in brief. Description of any unusual advantageous mechanism used. The specifications of all the components used, including motors, working weapon, wires, battery etc. have to be mentioned Note: You have to mail the abstract to smackbotz@msufp.in
  • The machine may be fully wired or wireless.
  • The machine must be capable to traverse on off-road dirt track such as ground, sand, grit, etc. with many obstacles.
  • Maximum weight of the bot should not exceed 75 kg.
  • The machine should get accommodated in a dimension box of 75cm x 75cm x 75cm.
  • It should not use an energy source that involves combustion process and if the machine is wireless then it must work on dual frequency, in order to avoid interference with other component. Radio jamming is not allowed.
  • Maximum voltage must not exceed 36V DC (at any point with respect to ground).
  • An AC source of 230V/50Hz would be provided by the Core Committee.
  • Usage of damaged or non-seal proof batteries may lead to direct disqualification.
  • The machine can use an externally placed, electric or non-electric power supply. Use of compressors is not allowed.
  • Robots can have any kind of magnetic weapons, cutters, flippers, saws, lifting devices, spinning hammers.
  • Liquid projectiles.Any kind of inflammable liquid. Flame-based weapons, Any kind of explosive or intentionally ignited solid or potentially ignitable solid. Nets, tape, glue, or any other entanglement device .High power magnets or electromagnets. Radio jamming, tasers,or any other high-voltage device.Tethered or untethered projectiles are not allowed using any of above directly lead to disqualification.

  • SPECIFICATION FOR PNEUMATICS
  • Robot can use pressurized non-inflammable gases to operate pneumatic devices. Maximum allowed outlet nozzle pressure is 10 bar. The storage tank and pressure regulators used by teams need to be certified and teams using pneumatics are required to show the Safety and Security letters from the faculty of respective college ensuring proper functioning of your mechanism. Participants must be able to indicate the used pressure with integrated or temporarily fitted pressure gauge on outlet nozzle.
  • Entire pneumatic setup should be onboard, no external input (from outside the arena) can be given to the robot for functioning of its pneumatic system.
  • The machine cannot facilitate anything that transmits the force manually to the machine.
  • Anything apart from the power supply for e.g. Extension boards, adaptors, eliminators will have to be arranged by the participants.
  • In case of wired mechanism, the wire must be slack at any point of time during the event.
  • The total length of wire extending from the remote control to the machine must be minimum 10 meters.
  • The participants have to ensure that the wire does not get entangled with the opponent’s machine during the rounds and all the wires coming out of the machine should be stacked in a single unit and taken through a vertical PVC tubes mounted on the machine.
  • Loose connections or improper wiring may lead to direct disqualification even before the event. The Core Committee will not be responsible for this inconvenience.
  • The name of the machine can be displayed on the machine.
  • It is suggested to have extra battery ready and charged up during competition so that on advancing to next level, you don’t have to wait or suffer due to uncharged battery. If teams don’t show up on allotted slot, they will be disqualified
