Hydraulics Mechanism Based Event
PROBLEM STATEMENT

The participants have to build a machine propelled by hydraulics which can climb a given vertical rod and build a hydraulic arm with a hook attached to the machine to lift the given load.

  • The machine should fit in a box of (35*35*50)cm.
  • The number of piston cylinder arrangement has no limitations.
  • Water or any other fluid can be used.
  • Brakes can be used for providing movement or stability.
  • The machine should be capable of moving on specified rod.
  • No electrical interference will be allowed.
  • Hook arm should have ability to carry the given load with variable height.
  • Arm must have an angular movement in horizontal plane & vertical plane.
  • Only 3 participants are allowed in the arena where the mechanism is to be placed.
  • Block will be kept in the range of 40 cm from the rod.
  • Only commercial syringes are allowed
  • Rod material = PVC pipe
  • PVC Pipe will be covered with a rubber tube
  • Pipe Dia = 1 inch
  • Block dimension = (7*7*7) cm
  • Block weight = 200 gm
  • Round 1: The machine should be able to climb a 6 ft rod from bottom to top in least possible time.
  • Other rounds will be revealed on the day of the event.
